We all know about Aptech, a high profile in information technology and education. Now Aptech is looking for a bigger play in the English training market. The company, which diversified into the English language training space and launched the ‘English Express’ a month back, is planning to open 100 centres as well as train about 3,000 students in the next 12 months.

The demand for English language learning is vast with the market size estimated at over $1.4 billion a year According to market estimates. There are about 550 million potential students in China and India alone.

Most Chinese including young professionals can’t speak or write English, despite emphasis on English skills before the Olympics.

In India this market is dominated by regional players. Now aday we all need to speak more than one language for various purposes. It is essential to keep up and never get left behind. Senior VP of Aptech Preeti Malik said However there remains a huge gap between the training available and the quality required.
